I read in FAQ about editing posts. It's just not working for me when I do it.

Ok, once in a while it lets me, but for the most part it does not.

Thanks for any help with this.

Please walk me through the steps you take when editing a post from what you click when you decide to edit, to what you do when you're done editing.

I click on the bottom of the post where it says "edit post", then I type in my edit and then click on "save." Then nothing happens

ETA: testing

Ok can you try editing the post just above this one, now, please?

And also link me to a recent post you tried to edit with no luck?

I've had to click again on the save button twice after swearing I hit it the first time (though I hit save and switch tabs while it spins/refreshes).

I'm using Chrome, Win 8 for that matter.

Maybe it is a tiny bug? Or random...I just edited THIS post to correct a spelling error, and it worked first time, but it did take almost a second and a half to refresh/save.

Sorry, I was at lunch.

It did let me edit that one. Usually when I want to edit it is shortly after I posted. Maybe it needs to sit awhile before I edit?

Not sure how to link. The one this morning that didn't let me edit was in the 7th Heaven in the BS4/5/6 thread and then I commented/posted directly after because it didn't let me edit.

ETA: Post #90

It didn't let me edit the last post after I posted it, but now it did. Weird!

In the BS7 forum, is it possible that you clicked the wrong edit link?

No. I would have had to do that multiple times, which I'm sure I didn't.

Ok hopefully last question.

Are you STILL unable to edit your posts in that thread?

I just tried to edit one that I just posted and it didn't let me.

So you can see the edit button but the save isn't sticking?

JoJoTucker

Yes, you could describe it that way. The save button is there but nothing happens when I click on it.

I get the same thing at work on my newer computer vs my old laptop. Both are running Windows 8 in Explore.

I just noticed when I tried to edit that last post that the cancel also doesn't do anything. So, I hit F5 to get out of it.

Ok I'd like you to log out of the site completely, then clear your cache and all cookies related to this site. Then log back in, go to the post you tried to edit, and hit CTRL-F5 while on that page. Then try to edit.

That worked! Thanks:D

Will I need to do that every time?

Hopefully not. I suspect you had a corrupted cookie or cached javascript. This should have fixed the issue.
