View Full Version : Is the site certificate expired?

Beginning 12/15 I see the following message every time I click on a page on the debtfreefanatics.com site:

"This server could not prove that it is www.debtfreefanatics.com; its security certificate expired in the last day."

Is this a problem on my end or on the DFF host? I connect via Verizon Fios and I've had problems in the past with their slightly aggressive security posture.

I've already rebooted my home router and the message persists.

I refreshed my browser that was already on this site and got a message that the security certificate is expired and the site not secure??

The certificate has expired. It did around 5pm yesterday.

Could wolfstar or lazydogweb help with resolving this?

We pay a hosting company for our website and have to renew our certificate periodically. I've always gotten an email well in advance letting me know that I need to do so...but perhaps this got directed to Len or someone else?

Please let us know if more funds are needed.

It's giving me the warning for every page I visit here. Hopefully the certificate can be updated?

Could @wolfstar (https://www.debtfreefanatics.com/member.php?u=2426) or @lazydogweb (https://www.debtfreefanatics.com/member.php?u=2363) help with resolving this?

That has always been the case before--we pay for it when it's due for renewal. Don't know what happened this time.

The response to the ticket was beyond my level of geek-speak. Right now I'm super tired but will post details here pretty soon, and ask for translation.

Thanks for getting it resolved, and for posting over in FB that the matter was fixed as I was unwilling to go beyond the warning to log in.

You're welcome. I'm glad we set up that page for when this very thing happens.

Thanks so much for fixing. I see you stated that it was not a $$ issue which is awesome...but...is the money okay or is it time to contribute to keep it okay?

I think after the last collection we were going to be good for several months, but I'm also not the treasurer. I'll ask GertieMcFuzz to chime in on that for the group.

We are working behind the scenes to see if there might be some upgrades/updates we need to perform on the site. Those would likely result in expenses, but we'll worry about that when we get to that point.

Ultimately, it is our goal to keep this place up and running for as long as everyone wants.

I hope that’s forever! Or at least a very very very long time.

I agree! This group has been the space of support for a long-time (even back on the original DR site). I took the break, but when things got hectic and realized the DR site was gone, I searched and found this page, and those familiar names, & the support was there all over again.
