    Help inserting photos...

I'm getting frustrated in inserting photos into a thread or post. When I try to insert an image directly from my computer it comes in at what appears to be native size (way too large to be useable in a post), when I tried to reference the image from a Goggle photo album, I get "Error: Invalid File".

Is there some way I can have photos autosize, or do you know of some tool I can use to resize a group of photos, or is there a better way?

    HELP!!!

And, thanks for the help, and have a good one,
    Mike

Mike - I've never had to resize anything. If you click on the box 2nd from the right on the menu bar just above where you type, you'll get the insert image window that will allow you to insert from URL or insert from computer. Assuming the photo is saved on your computer, you just click that, find the photo on your laptop, select it, click upload files (then give it a few seconds), and the image should go into your text. The actual picture shows up after you complete the post. I'm no techie so I hope that I explained it well enough.

If you want to resize or try a hosting site, I like to use postimage.org to upload my pics and then use that URL for here.

Huh!!! Well, that helps matters! I know I tried that before on one of my trip threads and it didn't auto re-size everything.

    Thanks, CW!

Well, I stumbled onto my original problem. The preview post pane does NOT re-size photos, at least it didn't when I used it today. Don't know if that's just a configuration setting or a true limitation of the forum software, but thought I'd let y'all know.

    Have a good one,
    Mike

If you have any version of windows, you either have or can download Microsoft Office Picture Manager. It's very easy to resize and/or compress files with it. Then just save that version with another name, so you still have the original larger one for other purposes. Some forums do not have resizing software, and limit pixels and/or file size, and Picture Manager does a nice job of it.
